I made this about a week ago, and I have been thinking of whether or not I was going to submit it to Konvulse, because that is where I originally made it for... But I haven't uploaded a "serious" personal piece here in a long time. I am pleased with this piece, because it's one of the more meaningful pieces of mine, and I really don't think it needs any words on it to stress it's importance. I have a feeling Konvulse may be releasing pretty soon, so I will be uploading the pieces from that pack after that.
Maybe one of your best pieces in a while, but I still have issues (personal) with the way you've created that "balloon" that is showing the thoughts of the girl.
I have to be honest man, and I don't mean this to be blunt, but this isn't that good. as far as the placement and the composition, it's really static and random. I like the texture and the sketchy style with the illustrations around the soldeirs, but they don't seem to really go along with the point of this piece, and are kind of random. I see an R in there, idk what that means. Some parts of this are wicked cool like the pattern overlay barely moved from the left soldier, but the piece as a whole is lacking.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
